Meadows Legal Group has filed a civil action in Taylor County Circuit Court on behalf of Clark Sinclair, the former Taylor County Sheriff and President of the Taylor County Board of Education.

The suit follows Mr. Sinclair’s August 2024 arrest on a grand larceny charge arising from a dispute over property at the Grafton Masonic Lodge No. 15. Meadows Legal Group represented Mr. Sinclair in the criminal matter and secured his acquittal at trial, where a Taylor County jury found him not guilty on all counts. The complaint now alleges that statements made to law enforcement led to Mr. Sinclair being charged, and brings claims that include malicious prosecution, abuse of process, defamation, and false light invasion of privacy against the Lodge and certain of its members.

Mr. Sinclair is represented by Dayton C. Meadows V. of Meadows Legal Group. The firm represents individuals and businesses across West Virginia in criminal defense and civil litigation, including claims for malicious prosecution and reputational harm.

The allegations described above are claims set out in a complaint filed in court. A complaint reflects one party’s allegations and is not a finding or determination by the court.
